Here is number NYS suspects who have paid bond and are free, Ngiritas still roting in jail

It is one week now since nys suspect were released on Bond
47 suspects were released on bail including the Ngirita family.
One week after the 47 National Youth Service (NYS) scandal suspects were released on bond, only eight of them have been able to secure their freedom while the rest remain in custody.

Among those still held behind bars include five members of the Ngirita family who on Wednesday, June 20, pleaded with a Nairobi court to reduce their bond terms since they could not raise the KSh 5 million cash bail.

The judge released all the NYS suspects on bail one week ago.
Only the rich and powerful officials have managed to raise the 1 million bail.

The eight who have since manged to secure their temporary freedom so far include suspended Youth Affairs Principal Secretary (PS) Lillian Omollo, former NYS acting Director-General Sammy Muchuki, and Treasury internal auditors Peter Muthomi and Stephen Muchai Riungu.

Others are James Thuita and Yvonne Wanjiku Ngugi, the directors of Firstling Supplies Limited, and Don Mwaniki Kariungi who was described as an IFMIS buyer.

Other include Evans Wafula Kundu, Wellington lubira and sammy mbugua.

The Ngiritas have failed to secure their release despite being the chief suspects.
They were accused of receiving over 300 million shillings.
